The AAUW Manatee County Branch, established in 1953, promotes equity for girls and women.  We provide scholarships in Manatee County for girls and women and partner with local schools and universities.  We sponsor prizes for elementary school participants in the annual Math Superstars competition and select middle school girls to attend the annual Tech Trek summer camp.  In collaboration with other local AAUW branches and universities, we present StartSmart salary negotiation workshops to help college graduates begin right.  We also support local community programs such as Healthy Start and Take Stock in Children.
